About Me

In case you haven’t figured this out already, my name is Justin Poel, and I’m a Junior currently enrolled at Deakin University in Geelong, Australia. I’m here for one semester, and will finish my bachelors in Mechanical Engineering back at my home school: Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I’m 20 years old, 6′1″, 175lbs, black hair and brown eyes, blah blah blah.

Blarrr! Yeah, that’s me.

I think the big question is: Why am I here in Australia? Good question. I guess you could blame my parents for that. Not in a negative way, mind you, but in more of a glowing, positive way. See, my family likes to travel…a lot. I’ve been to many places in my life, and have seen and experienced many different cultures along the way. Hell, I’ve been to every continent, besides Antarctica, and I’m only 20. Not many kids my age get to say they’ve done that. I’m a lucky guy.

Anyway, I picked the Land Down Under for several reasons:

-They speak English
-I’ve never been here before
-They speak English
-I’ve always wanted to study abroad somewhere
-Have I mentioned they speak English?

That “They speak English” part is important, since I know no other languages, besides bits and pieces of Japanese. Yeah.

What are my interests, you say? Why thanks for asking:

-Computers: Love ‘em or hate ‘em…I love ‘em!
-Video games: The staple ingredient of my daily life. Without them…I’d be a very bored boy.
-Friends: Pretty much a given, but hey, might as well throw it in there.
-Food: I love food. I love eating. I love cooking. I should be SO much fatter than I really am…
-Sleep: Nothing feels better than waking up refreshed after 10 hours of sleep. Awwww yeah.
-Cats: Definitely a cat person. Dogs are too loud and obnoxious, cats can take care of themselves.
-Golf: As frustrating as the sport is, hitting that perfect shot makes all the badness melt away.
-Airsoft: Not only does it give you a great adrenaline rush, but you look badass doing it too.

I could list more, but I’d take too long. Speaking of long, this post is getting lengthy. I’ll just stop it here. If you’d like to know more about me…then meet me!
