I’m closing in on the final couple weeks of the semester. It’s hard to believe I’ve been here for nearly 4 months now. I still remember dragging my ass to the airport for the flight coming here. Now I’ll have to do it again before too long.
In the month remaining here I have two weeks of pretty much nothing to do. The school gives us one week of study followed by two weeks of exams. My exams are the final two days of the exam period, which means the time leading up to that is free time more or less. Once the semester is done it’s off to Middle Earth, aka New Zealand. I’ll be there for 8 days, traveling around the country and whatnot. The scenery is supposed to be amazing. I’ll take lots of pictures.
On the flash front, I’ve recently completed N3wton, a physics based shooter of sorts that really started off as an experiment. Before that I was working on a top-down shooter, using a very similar art style (can you even call it art? It’s just shapes…). I made the first level of it, which I’ve turned into a demo. Maybe I’ll post it sometime later. Hopefully I can get some money for N3wton, which will go toward the myriad of things I need to pay off (New Zealand expenses, car repairs, next semester’s text books, videogames, computer upgrades, etc.). Man I hate being poor.

The DS can now do everything, including phone calls. I need to try this out.

On another note, I have an unusually strange urge to play with K’nex right now. I’ve devised a gun in my head that will shoot rubber bands at either semi or fully automatic speeds. Once I get home I’m building this sucker, and torturing peeps at the next LAN party. Mwahahahaha!
Spring Break in a week! Me + Sydney + Cairns + Sun = Happy
Now that this week is done I can finally concentrate on Flash games again. I had 3 papers due in the past 4 days, so as you can imagine there was little time for game making.
Oh! I almost forgot, I released another one of my games, Coin. Now I know counting coins isn’t your ideal game, and this is a rather poor looking one, but I thought it was an interesting concept nonetheless. Took about 15 hours or so to make, and got me $200. Can’t complain with that.
In a few days I’ll be releasing Spheric, and I’ll link it in another post. Got a sponsorship with Armorgames on that one, and they’ll pay me more the better it does on Newgrounds. So vote 5 for it damnit! Perhaps after that I’ll release a demo of my latest and greatest creation. Once completed it’ll be delicious…oh so delicious.

Just a quick update on what’s going on over here.
Started classes last Monday. As of now I have classes 5 days a week, but if I’m able to drop a class then it’ll be 3 days. Hopefully I can drop it, but I doubt I’ll be able to.
Getting over a cold that seems to have swept all the international students. I swear it’s jumping from one person to the next like some sort of virus….wait…
Because most of my entertainment that I enjoyed at home stayed at home (videogames, TV, GOOD internet) I have a lot of free-time on my hands. What do I do with it? Well…I’m not exactly sure yet. I’ve been spend the time watching TV shows that I haven’t seen yet (My Name Is Earl, Heroes, and probably Stargate SG-1 next). I’ve also started making Flash games again, which takes a good chunk of time to do and will keep me busy for a while. Currently I’m making Pyrotec 2 (play the first here), which is a much more ambitious project. It’s more of the same, only much prettier.
That’s about it for now. Time to code some more.

Here are a few pics of the campus I’m currently living on. The school isn’t very big, and this campus is one of 4 in the state. There is a lot of construction going on.

The main enclosure, where things happen.

Deakin Central.

My campus is called Waurn Ponds, for obvious reasons.
So yeah, that’s really about it.
